THE mission.

As a Caribbean brand, we are very mindful of the impact fashion has on the environment, especially with the Caribbean region at the forefront of the environmental crisis, where vulnerability is concerned. The Caribbean is the most exposed region to climate-related natural disasters. These effects come with incalculable human loss, and substantial development and economic costs.

Our eco-optimism alone is not enough to combat the challenges posed by climate change. Specializing in hand painted garments, we pride ourselves on creating innovative clothing made from organic fabrics and eco-friendly materials to minimize environmental impact. This allows us to seamlessly blend sustainability with contemporary flair. We also employ a made-to-order model, to reflect our commitment to sustainability. By taking proactive steps to address climate change, we can help alleviate the burden on the Caribbean.

We understand that the human element is essential to being a sustainable business. It is not enough to use sustainable materials, and so, NCHI ensures the sustainability of human resources, is involved in the production process. All our collections are produced under ethical working conditions in Trinidad. In acknowledging that sustainability is an evolving journey NCHI adopts a proactive stance in adapting to new technologies, practices and continuous improvement where sustainability is concerned. Through these measures, we not only contribute to reducing the environmental impact of fashion but also raise awareness about sustainable practices and their importance in Climate Action.

In addition to using organic fabrics and eco-friendly dyes our pieces are typically produced in small batches. This method minimizes waste by promoting a more sustainable approach to production and by extension transportation. From raw materials sourcing to production processes, we consider the environmental impact of our products throughout their entire life cycle. Finally, we incorporate a circular manufacturing process that extends the life of a garment and gives garments a new life by reworking them into upcycled and repurposed pieces.

sustainability is the standard.

THE DESIGNER.
